Australian New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group (ANZ BCTG) The ANZ BCTG is Australia's national organisation dedicated entirely to breast cancer research. BreastScreen Australia BreastScreen Australia is the national mammographic screening program. It provides FREE screening mammograms for women aged 50-69, with the aim of reducing deaths from breast cancer in this target group. Breast Cancer Action Group The BCAG mission is to provide a "voice" for breast cancer affected people - wherever decisions about breast cancer are made - within areas of Government, health service provision, research, support and care services. Breast Cancer Network Australia A network of breast cancer consumer groups and individuals across the country. Breast Cancer Network Australia's role is to empower, inform, represent and link together Australians personally affected by breast cancer. It is driven by women who have themselves experienced breast cancer. Breast Cancer Support Services The BCSS provides specially trained volunteers who provide emotional support for women diagnosed with breast cancer. These volunteers have all had breast cancer but will have completed treatment at least two years earlier.   Via the Cancer Information Service

kConFab - Kathleen Cuningham Foundation National Consortium for Research on Familial Breast Cancer kConFab is a consortium of geneticists, clinicians, surgeons, genetic counsellors, psychosocial researchers, pathologists and epidemiologists from Australia and New Zealand. It aims to make data and biospecimens widely available to researchers for use in peer-reviewed, ethically-approved funded research projects on familial aspects of breast cancer. KConFab is funded by the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the National Health and Medical Research Council; the Anti Cancer Council of Victoria and the Anti Cancer Foundation of South Australia. Sydney Breast Cancer Institute The Sydney Breast Cancer Institute is a treatment, education and research facility encompassing a network of Sydney's leading hospitals and research bodies. The institute works closely with other state medical and research organisations to complement the work being done in breast cancer treatment. The Institute offers comprehensive care through its multidisciplinary approach to breast cancer treatment. The Institute receives funding from the NSW Department of Health through the Central Sydney Area Health Service. The Institute also receives funding from the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation for many of its initiatives in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, medical and consumer education, acquisition of specialised equipment and staff and breast cancer research. NT Breast Cancer Voice NT Breast Cancer Voice is an advocacy group of breast cancer consumers. We were established in 1998 as a means to ensure that theTerritory voice of those affected by a diagnosis of breast cancer was heard.

Our aims are to improve services and conditions of those who will inevitably be diagnosed with breast cancer. Our focus is on a cooperative approach and well researched information. Several of our members are highly trained advocates and graduates of the national Consumer Advocacy & Science training course specially designed to empower consumer to be well equipped and informed advocates.

Although the NT may be a small in numbers we are definitely loud in voice and several of our inititives have gone on to gain national recognition - the stand out being the dragon boat program which is known today as Dragons Abreast Australia.
